Edinburgh is a filmmaker’s dream, a city of stunning architecture, wide open spaces, dramatic changes in light and majestorial presence. It’s been the perfect backdrop and setting for a diverse range of film and tv productions from One Day, to Burke and Hare, to Trainspotting, Case Histories, Rebus and Hallam Foe.
Arthur’s Seat

Begin with a bracing walk up Edinburgh’s 350 million-year-extinct volcano for one of the best views of the city you’re about to explore. An easy 30-minute amble up any of the various paths of rock and grass will reward you with glorious summit views sweeping 360º across the city. Don’t forget your camera for that magical picture.

The view of Edinburgh from Calton Hill is breathtaking; the panorama enfolds out across Old and New Towns to Fife and the Bridges. It’s the best place to take in the city’s range and many moods. Many productions have used Calton Hill for the establishing shot of the city, which is part of the reason it is such an iconic view.

Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle is a world famous icon of Scotland and part of the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. Follow the Royal Mile up to Edinburgh Castle, the location for scenes from many productions, including The Adventures of Greyfriars Bobby, Filth and Rebus.

Everyone says: “If you are tired of London, you are tired of life”. London, a city that appears in films and literary works many times, is a dream place for many people. I interviewed three international students and heard why they chose to leave their families and live in a strange environment.
“As we all know, London is the world’s cultural and artistic center. As an art student, the British Museum, the V & A, the Tate Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, etc., are all art halls that often make me linger. The best part is that, with the exception of very few thematic exhibitions, most of the artworks open to the public are free to enter.” Lucy from Goldsmith said.

The second interviewee was Hana from Japan: ”Being away from the familiar streets and food of my hometown, and becoming friends with people with different skin and cultural backgrounds, made me realize that the world can have such a rich side. Friends around us come from all over the world. We who used to speak different languages have now established a new life in London. And the city has embraced openly and embraced us as part of it.”
The last one is Aiko from UCL, she said:” I have always heard people complain that London is a city with too fast life because they have never been to Beijing. For me, London has an unusually slow-paced beauty. Here, you can always find a uniquely decorated afternoon tea restaurant, order a cup of English Breakfast Tea with milk, and butter the hot Sconri. Sometimes go to the market. There are many open-air weekend markets in London, of which Notting Hill Market is my favorite and most visited.”
In the south of England, there is such a small diamond-shaped island. It is quiet, peaceful, and has a long history, which can be traced back to the Bronze Age. It guards the Solent Channel and is the most sunny island in British territory. Yachts and sailboats can be seen everywhere in the port,it is the Isle of Wight.

Traffic and Accomodation
Access to the island is quite convenient, with boats from Southampton and Portsmouth to East Cowes and Ryde on the Isle of Wight respectively. Ferry schedules can be found on Red Funnel’s official website.
The center of the Isle of Wight is Newport, it is most convenient to live here, there are many buses to the attractions.
Restaurants
Burr’s Restaurant:The restaurant is located in Newport. The decoration and decoration are very delicate, and the atmosphere is especially warm. Recommended dishes are Steak and Spinach Crab Meat.
Smoking Lobster: Many customers say that any dish in this restaurant is delicious.
Attractions
The Needles: The most famous spot on the Isle of Wight is three huge white chalk rocks that bulge on the sea in the west of the island. This is The Needles, the representative scenery of the Isle of Wight. There is a chairlift that can sit directly at the bottom of the cliff. This is not a cliff, but a large beach. Must go on a yacht, feel the speed and passion.
Osborne House:In East Cowes, you can visit Queen Victoria’s favorite place, Osborne House. There are beaches, gardens, castles, large lawns, museums and more. This palace witnesses the love of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and is well worth visiting.

This Manchester library has been rated one of the most beautiful in Europe, John Rylands is the most beautiful old-school library in Europe according to Google reviews – the only UK library to make the list.
John Rylands never got to see the library which bears his name. Originally from a family of cotton manufacturers in St Helens, Rylands set up business in Manchester and became the city’s first cotton millionaire. At the age of 74, he married his third wife, Cuban-born Enriqueta. After John died 13 years later, Enriqueta set about planning a world-class library in his memory. It opened to the public on New Year’s Day 1900.

There are high windows containing brightly coloured glass, but it’s particularly thick. You can’t really see out of them. This wasn’t a very nice area in Victorian times so the idea behind that was not to see outside but still get light in. A way that you could escape from the outside world, really. The building was a gift for the people of Manchester.

There are now 300,000 printed books and 10,000 manuscripts gathered together in Deansgate. Scholars and specialists in almost all fields of learning look upon Deansgate as one of their most sacred Meccas.Ordinary students – as anyone who looks in especially during the University term-time may see – find Rylands invaluable. Its accommodation – so often a weakness in libraries – is excellent and its system of indexing simple.
If you’ve neglected to visit, set an afternoon aside forthwith and make the trip. It’s genuinely enchanting.
British influence on world culture is huge, English has become the most common language in the world, and British music has an important position in the world music scene. Speaking of British music, I have to mention a famous band-“The Beatles”, and the birthplace of the Beatles is Liverpool in the United Kingdom. Liverpool as a whole is a living Beatles museum, from their childhood to their growth, to their final dissolution. The Beatles are Liverpool’s city card and pride.
A rock band composed of 4 young people was born in Liverpool in the 1960s, and a myth was born. No one denies that the Beatles are the greatest and most successful band in British pop. The Beatles have a strong influence on the revolutionary development and influence of pop music, and have made a huge contribution to the development of rock and roll around the world. Liverpool has built a museum in honor of this great band called the Beatles Museum.

The museum records the stories of the Beatles from each age, until the end of the band. But the museum did not end there. It also recorded their respective lives after the band disbanded. Here you can find all information about the members of the band: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringer Starr, and their path to fame. Pictures, clips, articles and other materials form part of the exhibition. The Beatles Museum is not only popular with local Beatles fans, but also attracts Beatles fans from all over the world.
